The framework
The When Seasons Change™ framework is this: every life transition moves though predictable emotional seasons. At Lemonade Moments, we refer to them as Winter, Fall, Summer, and Spring. Understanding these seasons then helps you navigate change with clarity, resilience, and hope.
Just like nature progresses through seasons, so do we. When something shifts… a loss, a breakup, a career change, a health scare, or even a long-awaited new beginning… we don’t simply “move on” overnight. Instead, we pass through a set of reverse emotional seasons, each that serve a unique purpose. Winter is the shock and survival stage. Fall is the time of reflection and letting go. Summer is where the hard inner work happens. And Spring is when healing, growth, and new possibilities begin to bloom.
Understanding these seasons doesn’t eliminate pain or difficulty, but it gives meaning to the process. When you recognize where you are, you can stop judging yourself for not being “further along” and start working with the season you’re in instead of fighting it.
And perhaps most importantly: the goal isn’t to rush through the seasons. The goal is to move through them with awareness, knowing that no season lasts forever, and that Spring will always come again. 🌱
